The First People
The first people were nomads. Nomads ate roots, nuts, berries and wild deer. They slept in caves or tents. They roamed around to find a new place to hunt and gather food.
Some nomads went to the Fertile Crescent to get food. They stayed in the Fertile Crescent and grew wheat and barley. They built houses out of bricks and reeds. They built stone walls around their villages. They became farmers.

There was a cave boy named Kip. He avoided all kinds of wild animals with the help of a paleowolf. He gave Kip warnings so he could avoid the animals. They went home together. The wolf became the first dog.
It’s Disgusting and We Ate It! by James Solheim
People throughout history have eaten disgusting things. They ate bird-nest soup, owls, sliced python in vinegar, pigs’ feet, and rats. Prehistoric people ate woolly mammoths, bison, beans, honey, and popcorn.
